OUR STORY

History

The Rock got its start in 2003 when Pastor Ross, his family, and a handful of folks from Calvary Chapel Petaluma rented a hall in Sebastopol to begin a new church. Within in a year, the church doubled in size, and we were able to remodel a larger space downtown. It wasn’t very long in the new facility, however, that we doubled in size once more and were forced to move again into a larger facility. We rented an entire third floor of an office complex which made for comfortable services until it happened again--we outgrew the facility. We moved to Sebastopol Community Center for Sunday morning services and began looking for a permanent location for our ever-growing church family.

During the winter of 2007, the Lord opened a door for us to lease a building that would become our church home. Since the majority of our fellowship was coming from surrounding communities, it wasn’t a big surprise to find an open door to remodel an ideal warehouse space in Santa Rosa. That’s when we became The Rock. We are now able to accommodate our growing children and youth ministries and enjoy having church offices on site. We are thankful to God for all His good blessings. And guess what? We’re maxed out again (especially with parking!) and we are currently looking for a new and larger facility! More to come…
