FOR 9TH TO 12TH GRADE STUDENTS

HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY AT CALVARY CHAPEL THE ROCK

Our High School Ministry at Calvary Chapel The Rock in Santa Rosa helps students in grades 9 to 12 grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. As they face real questions about identity, relationships, school, and the future, we give them a place where they can belong, ask honest questions, learn the Bible, and build Christ-centered friendships that last, whether they already attend The Rock or are visiting from communities across Sonoma County.

What We Are All About

High School Ministry exists to:

  • Equip students to know and follow Jesus
  • Provide clear, Bible-centered teaching and discipleship
  • Create a safe place for honest questions about faith and life
  • Connect students with caring leaders and Christ-centered friends

Our goal is to walk with high schoolers as they begin a lifelong relationship with Christ, helping them move from simply attending church to owning their faith and living it out in everyday life.

What Students Experience

Most High School Ministry nights are relaxed and relational. A typical Friday night includes:

  • Hangout time where students can talk, laugh, and connect
  • A shared meal together
  • Worship that helps them focus on the Lord
  • Verse by verse Bible teaching that speaks to real high school life
  • Age-specific small groups to discuss the message, pray, and dig deeper into Scripture
  • A closing time of games and activities

High schoolers are encouraged to bring their friends, even if they attend a different church or are brand new to church. Every gathering is designed to be welcoming, understandable, and focused on Jesus.

Camps, Retreats, and Special Events

Throughout the year, High School Ministry offers:

  • Summer camp and winter retreats
  • Regional youth gatherings and worship nights
  • Holiday and outreach events
  • Local service projects in Santa Rosa and around Sonoma County

These experiences give students space to step away from daily distractions, hear from God, build deeper friendships, and learn what it looks like to follow Jesus together.

Parents, permission forms are required for trips and overnight events. Key details and packing lists are sent out ahead of time, and scholarships may be available upon request. For retreats, camps, and outreach events, please check the church calendar and app for dates and registration.

Serving Opportunities for High School Students

High school students are invited to use their gifts by serving in:

  • Worship team
  • Media and production
  • Children’s ministry
  • Greeting and hospitality on Sundays
  • Other ministries as needs and opportunities arise

Serving helps students grow in maturity, learn to put others first, and see how God can use them in the life of the church and the community.

Registration, Cost, and How to Get Connected

Weekly High School Ministry gatherings at the church are free. Some camps, retreats, or special events may have a cost, which is shared ahead of time. Scholarships are offered whenever possible so that cost is not a barrier.

Students do not need to register for weekly Friday nights. They can simply show up and check in when they arrive. Camps, retreats, and special events use sign ups in the church app.
