WORSHIP THROUGH MUSIC & PRODUCTION
WORSHIP MINISTRY AT CALVARY CHAPEL THE ROCK
Worship is not a performance. It is not about playing the right notes or chasing a feeling. Worship is an act of reverence and praise of God alone. At Calvary Chapel The Rock, that reverence is expressed through congregational singing, Scripture readings, prayer, and moments of quiet that help us focus on the Lord. Whether you are brand new to church or have followed Jesus for many years, you will find a worship environment that reflects a reverence for Christ and keeps the focus on Him.
What We Are All About
We believe God has given every believer gifts to be used for His glory. In Worship Ministry, those gifts come together to help the church draw near to God in song and in truth.
Worship Ministry seeks to:
- Lead the church in songs that are rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus
- Create a worship environment that is excellent, but never distracting
- Support Sunday services through music, sound, lyrics, lighting, and livestream
- Encourage humility, unity, and spiritual maturity on and off the platform
Our goal is worship, not entertainment. We rehearse and prepare so that Sunday mornings are free from unnecessary distractions and the congregation can focus on the Lord, not on the people on stage.
The Worship and Production Team
The Worship Ministry is made up of:
- Vocalists
- Acoustic and electric guitarists
- Bassists
- Keyboard and piano players
- Drummers and other instrumentalists
- A production team that supports sound, lyrics, lighting, cameras, and livestream
On Sundays, you will see acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keys, and drums leading the church in singing songs that are biblically grounded and Christ focused. Behind the scenes, production volunteers help ensure that the sound is clear, lyrics are visible, and online services run smoothly for those joining from home.
The team rehearses weekly so that Sunday services are prepared, unified, and focused on Jesus.
Serving on the Worship Team
If you have a heart for worship and want to serve, we would be glad to meet you. No formal musical training or professional background is required. What we look for most is:
- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- A humble, teachable heart
- Faithfulness, preparation, and reliability
- A desire to serve the church, not seek the spotlight
New team members typically begin by:
- Attending one or more Thursday rehearsals
- Shadowing on a Sunday service to learn the flow
- Getting to know team members and leadership
Teenagers are welcome to participate through our mentorship pathway led by our Youth Worship Coordinator. Volunteers usually serve two or three Sundays per month, with flexibility for school, work, and family life.
