FOR NURSERY to UPPER ELEMENTARY

KIDS MINISTRY (KIDMIN) AT CALVARY CHAPEL THE ROCK

KidMin at Calvary Chapel The Rock meets on Sunday mornings and helps children of all ages learn the Bible, worship together, and build a real relationship with Jesus. Our heart is to partner with parents across Santa Rosa and Sonoma County by providing a safe, welcoming place where kids can know, love, and follow Christ.

From the nursery through upper elementary, every classroom is centered on God’s Word, the gospel, and age appropriate teaching that points children to Jesus.

What We Are All About

KidMin exists to:

  • Teach the Bible clearly and faithfully to children
  • Help kids worship God through songs, prayer, and Scripture
  • Build faith forming habits that can last a lifetime
  • Support parents as the primary disciplers in the home

Our goal is more than childcare. KidMin is about discipleship in a setting that is fun, safe, and filled with caring leaders who want to see children grow in their walk with Jesus.

What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

On a typical Sunday morning, children will:

  • Join age specific classes with dedicated leaders
  • Hear engaging Bible lessons that are rooted in Scripture
  • Participate in worship, prayer, and Scripture memory
  • Enjoy activities, crafts, and games with friends

Each part of the morning is designed to help kids understand God’s Word, build Christ centered friendships, and develop a solid, lifelong faith in Jesus.

Check in for KidMin opens 15 minutes before each service in the Multipurpose Room (NPR) near the main entrance at 915 Piner Rd, Suite G, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

Nursery (0 – 2 Years)

Our nursery is designed especially for our youngest children, from birth to age 2.

In the nursery you will find:

  • A no shoes policy to help keep the floor cleaner for little ones who are not walking yet
  • Many age appropriate toys for babies and toddlers
  • Caring volunteers who maintain a healthy volunteer to child ratio
  • A changing table with extra diapers and wipes available if parents approve
  • Water and sippy cups available
  • Simple snacks, offered only with parental permission
  • A live feed of the sermon so volunteers can follow the service while caring for the kids

The nursery is intended to be a safe, clean, and comforting space for both children and parents.

Toddlers (2 – 4 Years)

The 2 to 4 year old room is full of energy and simple, gospel centered teaching.

In this class children can expect:

  • Age appropriate toys that fit this stage of development
  • A theme appropriate craft each week that reinforces the Bible story
  • Time to sing, listen, and learn together
  • A special treat of fresh popcorn after the service

Kids in this class begin to hear short, memorable truths about God, enjoy hands on activities, and build friendships in a fun, structured environment.

Elementary Classes

Elementary aged children meet in age appropriate groups where they can:

  • Study Bible passages and stories in more depth
  • Ask questions and talk with leaders and friends
  • Learn how to apply God’s Word at home, at school, and with friends
  • Practice Scripture memory, prayer, and worship

Teaching is Bible based and focused on helping children understand who God is, what Jesus has done for them, and how they can follow Him in everyday life.

All kids’ rooms are stocked with age appropriate toys and resources that match the age and stage of each class.

Family Spaces for Parents and Little Ones

We know that every family is in a different season. In addition to KidMin classrooms, we offer quiet spaces where parents can care for their children while still listening to the service.

Mothers Nursing Room (Moms Only)

The mothers nursing room is a peaceful, comfortable space created just for moms and their babies.

It includes:

  • A live video feed of the sermon so moms do not miss the message
  • Dim lighting to help infants rest and nap during the service
  • Quiet toys for little ones who are not ready for the nursery or who need a calmer space
  • A changing table, along with extra diapers, wipes, and nursing pads when needed
  • This room is reserved for mothers and their babies only, to provide privacy and calm.

Family Room (For Moms and Dads)

The family room is open to both mothers and fathers who want to stay with their children during the service.

In the family room you will find:

  • A live sermon feed so parents can listen while staying with their kids
  • Toys for children to play with during the message
  • A relaxed, family friendly atmosphere

Both the nursery and the family room have the sermon playing live, so families can choose the space that works best for them without missing the teaching.

Safety, Check-In, and Special Needs Support

We are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for every child.

Parents can expect:

  • A secure check in and check out process that opens 15 minutes before each service
  • Children released only to the adult who checked them in
