AWANA at Calvary Chapel The Rock is a mid-week kids Bible club in Santa Rosa, California, serving families from Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Healdsburg, Sonoma, Cloverdale, Cotati, and Sebastopol. Children ages 3 through 6th grade come on Wednesday nights to play games, worship, memorize Scripture, and grow in a real relationship with Jesus in a safe, welcoming environment.

Kids’ AWANA in Santa Rosa, CA
Awana clubs happen on Wednesday nights at Calvary Chapel The Rock. We follow the traditional school year from September through May. Kids from ages 3 to 6th grade can come together to build friendships, play games and learn about the truths of scripture. Awana is intended to help children build a foundation of faith and learn how to see the world through the lens of the gospel.
Through scripture memory, children will learn to understand the gospel and come to hide God’s word in their heart. Leaders will walk kids through their handbooks, guide them through scripture understanding and help create an environment where children feel welcomed, supported, and excited to grow in their walk with God.
What a Night Looks Like
Throughout the night, kids rotate through:
- High-energy games and activities
- Worship and age-appropriate teaching
- Scripture memorization with leader support
Memory verses help them understand the gospel while leaders walk with them through each step. Every activity, whether a simple game or a verse to memorize, takes place in an environment where children feel welcomed, supported, and excited to grow in their walk with God.

What is AWANA?
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15. It is a global, Bible-based program that helps boys and girls know God, understand the gospel, and learn to walk in His ways. The Rock is one of thousands of churches that host AWANA Clubs.
Ages
AWANA at Calvary Chapel The Rock is for children ages 3 years (must be 3 by September 1 and potty trained) through 6th grade.
Schedule
AWANA follows the school year and takes breaks during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter.
Space and priority
Space is limited. Priority is given to families who attend The Rock and to families who are not currently connected to a church.
